Which does make it seem odd that Claire guessed Hanner's last name just from hearing her first name. My guess is that it doesn't mean anything more significant than a mistake by Jeph...

I'd just guess that, fanboy who he is, Clinton told Claire about having met Hannelore, his great idol's daughter, mentioning her by her full name. Seems the most plausible explanation to me.

Also, the small fire-haired woman is actually a girl, and is a tribute to an anime character who's a scientific genius (someone else will have to provide the name, I'm afraid).

I was browsing the archives this morning, and suddenly said "Hey! That background looks familiar!" I didn't deliberately duplicate the comic; it was just too good a shot to pass up when I saw it.
