At one point, we started making our daughter tell the ER staff what had happened, because we were afraid that they wouldn't believe us anymore... 

ER doc: "How did this happen?" 
Daughter: "I fell off the fire hydrant."
ER doc: "What were you... how did you... ???... never mind."

I do remember as a kid once managing to injure myself in a literal padded room at LACMA. I found a staple the hard way.

Do you mind if I ask why you were in a padded room in the first place? I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it, of course...
