ISWYDT (I see what you did there).

Someone explain it to me.

I was gonna write the full sentence, but it sounds weird to me at that moment.
I think She was making a reference to this.*
*Probably; if that was not the case, sorry Akima.
EDIT: Now that you say it, Evangelion sounds more like it.

I'll throw up a third theory, just to confuse you. I'd guessed that Akima was merely suggesting (someone obliquely) that Dale might go deaf if Hanners keeps screaming next to him like that. Your theories are clever, though.
I was reminded of a scene from my childhood.
Mum: Would you please get your brother? (who is at the other end of the house)
Me: *HEY BRO*!! (at the top of my lungs)
Mum: *sigh* I could have done that.
Me: *shrug*
Storel:

I was thinking something more like: In the movie, they make the protagonist hear Beethoven when he's on "treatment"; then, he can't stand hearing his music again because of that.
Dale works everyday delivering Pizza, and now he can't stand it anymore.
But i bet it was an Evangelion reference :-P .

Ahh, I see. Never having seen A Clockwork Orange, or read the book, I just scanned the first few paragraphs of the Wikipedia article and took my best shot at figuring out what you meant. Your explanation makes a lot more sense. 8-)
Since I've never read Evangelion, either, could someone explain the Evangelion reference?
K1dmor:
The "Ode to Joy", composed by Beethoven, is a popular song that you could hear playing in the TV series of Evangelion (not the manga).
Also, one of the charactes (Guendo Ikari) looks a lot like Dale (or the other way around) and his glasses are shining most of the time too.

If you do hear it while reading the manga, either you or someone nearby has good taste in music or you need psychiatric evaluation.
Method of Madness:
Looking at the comic again, I'm actually disappointed that Hannelore's shout didn't shock Dale into delighting his glasses.
