westrim:
Geez, gotta qualify everything. Everything on the Wikipedia disambiguation for the word.
Also, why do I feel like I'm being corrected for saying there are multiple valid spellings when all evidence presented since that statement confirms it?
And why, of all the things I said, were the only responses corrections?
LTK:
Because somebody was wrong on the Internet.
pwhodges:
Spelling is somewhat overrated. For instance, I was deciding in an earlier post in another part of the forum between yoghourt, yoghurt and yogurt - all of which are acceptable. The important thing is not some supposed "correctness", but sufficient agreement to ensure that comprehension is not impaired.

In modern fantasy they've been dog people until dnd decided 'we need more lizardpeople!' for no real good reason.
May is clearly a grognard.

Likely, given that kobolds were reptilian back when I played AD&D in the early to mid 80s....
jmucchiello:
In the early to mid 80s, kobolds were still related to goblins. 3rd edition made them related to dragons in 1999.
I can't believe there's a wikipedia entry on D&D Kobolds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobold_%28Dungeons_%26_Dragons%29
