"Mornin', Ralph ... Mornin' Sam," right? The original punch-clock antagonists, the sheepdog and the wolf from the Looney Tunes cartoons. Brutally effective antagonists while on the clock, neighbors and congenial professionals otherwise, each recognizing the other is just doin' his job. Got a metaphor goin' there?

"yes."

A&C at their best. Classic comedy. I've heard that routine thousands of times and it's still the funniest sketch ever written.

The wolf is saying "Morning, Sam" and the sheepdog is saying "Morning, Ralph", yes. God, it's been so long since Saturday morning Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner Show... *wistful smile*
(Anyone else ever find it odd that this "wolf" looks exactly like Wile E. Coyote? Someone at Warner Bros. was a tad unclear on the differences between wolves & coyotes, IMHO.)
