Seriously though, Huntsman spiders are completely harmless. To humans, anyway. Plus, they eat mosquitoes and various other evil insects, don't leave huge webs. We get rather large ones in our house / sheds / garden / everywhere. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

An advanced form of ahimsa might be the realization that being stuck indoors limited the spider's food supply and exposed it to risk of accidental injury.
