After letting it go on its own, I came back tonight and had 20 billion cookies, at the rate of a little over a million per second. After some upgrading it's at just shy of 6. By the morning I should be able to up that considerably.

I assume you mean you want to buy whatever would optimize your ROI? For example, a factory produces four times as many cookies as a mine. I think it therefore stands to reason that as long as a mine is cheaper than 1/4 of the prize of a factory (minus some epsilon to account for the increase in prize of every subsequent min), you should buy the mine. Or am I thinking too simple here?

It's a bit simplistic - as there's a different amount of x2-upgrades for every building, so investing in more than the absolute minimum of say farms, factories and mines will lead to a slower upgrade path. Also, you might catch up in the long run if you go a bit slower early on due to waiting for higher level things rather than buying several of the low level buildings.

As of this morning I'm at a measly 44 million cookies per second. I've only been playing since yesterday morning, and wasn't playing all that efficiently though. I hope to be up to a billion per second by tonight.

You need 100 of each (and 200 cursors) for achievement purposes, so even if it slows you down at first, it helps for down the line.

I cheated and checked. You have to click five times within a third of a second. Good luck!

(alt+shift+num lock on windows activates a mode which lets you double click with numpad +. Turn it off again with the same combo, also turning it off sounds crazy)

Ahh, Warhammer 40k.. I have a starter set of that somewhere of umm.. the space marine guys and the orcs. Never really planned to do anything with the orcs but I've half completed the space marines to look like a bunch of terminators with metal scratches and aged

Also, in that Cookie Clicker game.. farms seem useless. They max out at 2,000 cps at 100.. everything else is better by a large margin.
