Ever had a job you felt obligated (if only for your own pride or love of craft) to take seriously, while having to take up the slack of someone else who treated it like something to do between boozers? Lots of fun, I can tell you.

Oh certainly. I've found that with many jobs that don't involve physical labor, it's almost easier to make them easy than it is to make them hard. Even working with the public is not so bad if you just embrace it.
I think its easier to find job satisfaction as autonomy and salary go up, but it's very possible to think you're undervalued and over controlled at even pretty prestigious jobs. I know people making six figures, with near complete discretion in their work, who still seem to think they slave away for the man.

Also a good point. But it's been such a consistent running gag that it'd feel weird to me if it just ended all of a sudden with no explanation. 'Course, it'd be like Jeph to offer an explanation several months from now and develop it into a week's worth of dialogue. (Someone: Say, Dale, I notice you stopped wearing your Glasses. What's up with that? Dale: Well, I............ etc.)

Eh? We got a months worth of explanation- it wasn't explicit, but it was one of the points in the May arc.

Did the May arc explain why he swithced to normal glasses? If so I didn't catch it.
Carl-E:
May was the reason he switched them off initially...
KOK:
Yes, as a punishment for May, But he switched them back on. And now that she is gone, why not leave them on as he used?
