Method of Madness:
It's weird, the forum usually auto-resizes.

Also a good point.  But it's been such a consistent running gag that it'd feel weird to me if it just ended all of a sudden with no explanation.  'Course, it'd be like Jeph to offer an explanation several months from now and develop it into a week's worth of dialogue.  (Someone: Say, Dale, I notice you stopped wearing your Glasses. What's up with that?  Dale: Well, I............ etc.)

Eh? We got a months worth of explanation- it wasn't explicit, but it was one of the points in the May arc.

I'm wondering if we'll see a fresh set of insecurities for Faye.  She's newly minted as Assistant Manager, and Dale is, if not hyper-competent, far more competent and hard working than any of the other characters barring Dora.

Now, his "treat the customer with respect" shtick might be a source of comedy, or even genuine problems, but I can see Faye really start to see how bad she is at her job and freak out a little.

Except Faye's not bad at her job. At all.

Yeah, I realized that was the wrong way to phrase.

I think that she'll realize how half heartedly she does her job.  Dale takes jobs seriously, in a way that nobody at COD does aside from Dora.  Not surprisingly, given the nature of the work.  We've all held BS jobs that at least one person took very seriously.  Mine was unloading trucks at 4am at a Target.  I did it for rent/beer money, but one kid worked like his family were held by Turkish rebels.

Still, with jobs like that, you get to a point, where you commit or your don't.  Faye might enjoy her new responsibility (and hopefully wage), but will also realize she'd need to step up her game to keep her position.
