The man behind Jack Ryan and several of my favorite novels.  Somewhat controversial on occasions, but one of the best writers of Military Thriller Fiction.

This man's novels forged a large portion of my childhood.

Grognard:
Even Grandpa Reagan like Mr. Clancy's works.

When I was growing up, I didn't understand the President concept; and so called him 'Grandpa'.


now I'm doubly sad.

That happens more and more often, and it's a bit sobering.

Lupercal:
I never read any Clancy, but did play basically all of his affiliated video games.

I suppose now will be a good time to read The Hunt for Red October, as I assume it'll come out in snazzy new paperback form.
