That wasn't cute, that was awkward and embarrassing. Maybe it was a cute sort of awkward but still more embarrassing than anything else.

Dora gets jealous, Tai expresses her true feelings and pledges herself just to Dora...Pintsize is still humping the coffee machine with Dale learning a few things from him about sex that he never wanted to know....Faye is drunk with power and terrorizes Hanners and the rest but giving Dale a break for the earlier gaffe  :psyduck:

Is Tai really that stupid? This is just going to come back and bite her.

Dora is just like my ex: broke up previous relationship because she has too many issues, which she should solve BEFORE jumping into another relationship straight away. She didn't take the time to fix her problems. Poor Tai.

Maybe she hasn't sorted them out, but Tai found one way of getting around them. She diffused the situation, redirected the frustration to embarrassment, and left her wanting to know more

I don't see what you mean. Sure it was a bit crude (alright, more than a bit, since Dora is currently doing a pretty credible impersonation of a beetroot), but she deterred Dora's insecurities quite well.

I dunno. I guess the next time they run into each other will see what's going on...

Delaying and dodging can only hold out so long. I think it's more that Tai doesn't realize what's going on on Dora's end.

Let's face it, Dora should not be in a relationship until AFTER some serious therapy.

I can see where you're both coming from, greywolfe and GarandMarine. Ducking and dodging a problem will only go so far. If Dora really has matured since therapy (actually, when was the last time she'd had a session?), she'd address this with Tai ASAP.

Not to say her insecurities will just magically disappear, but at least she might be better equipped to deal with them on her next encounter with Allie (whenever that may be).

Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may want to talk to someone about that.

You make a valid argument, greywolfe. Dora needs to talk about this pretty seriously and soon. One therapy session does not equal a healthy mind (I know that one quite well...). But your original post called Tai stupid, and I was just wondering why you would suggest so, besides the obvious "being infatuated with someone does leave you feeling stupid" kind of way.

She knows all about it, she is Marten's friend and boss after all. He was leaning on her for a bit after Dora's breakup with him.

She could be right about her skills as well, Dora may not have the experience that Tai has and she could be in for the ride of her life!

I dunno. I think Tai may well have heard (from Marten, or Dora herself, or both) about Dora's issues; and that she's smart enough, and experienced enough, to be able to cope with them and help Dora into the bargain.

I hope so, anyway!

Tai, smart and experienced enough to help Dora? The same Tai who had basically never had a relationship before (as opposed to lots of fuckbuddies)? I think not.

Dora has trust issues. Tai, on the other hand, has never even been a relationship that required trust! Do you really think she's going to just 'understand'?

I believe this is the first indication that they've been doing sexy things with each other.

Tai has shown some psychological insight before. She may be deliberately giving Dora just what she needs. Or maybe Tai is just obsessed with sex.

A romantic relationship is not the only kind that requires trust. Tai may very well have been a confidant for her polyamorous circle or what have you. Noone said she cannot be a good friend, for example.

I believe this is the first indication that they've been doing sexy things with each other.
What he said. This is a bit surprising.

Warning - while you were typing some text the color of Dora's cheeks appeared. You may wish to review your post.

They always only looked cuddly and there was no indication they had done anything beyond that. For example, I was aware we didn't know, but if I had had to guess, I would have said they hadn't yet, because I expected Jeph to milk it for what it's worth create a long buildup with a big climax explicitly insert include it in the plot.

she has too many issues, which she should solve BEFORE jumping into another relationship straight away.

In my experience, issues don't all just get solved easily one by one. You untangle this one thing, and it slightly alleviates another thing, but which is still affected by this other tangled thing. You don't realise how much progress you made, in many subtle ways, until you look back months later. In my case, what I originally went to the therapist for turned out not to even be the problem I had. :psyduck:

So while we see Dora's usual hothead behaviour, I'm hoping if she's been going to her sessions, some of the underlying issues that make her hothead behvaiour  problematic have improved. For example, she didn't suppress the issue in an attempt not to seem crazy. For another example, she didn't freak out at Tai for trying to change the subject. And maybe in the upcoming comics we'll see that rather than dwelling on the smirk and overthinking it, she gets over it.

Faye gets therapy, and as I recall Hanners as well.  It only gets mentioned when it is relevant or the strip depicts a session.

I thought Tai did very well in distracting Dora from her anger. And this might be all she needs at this point. Yes, Allie was rude, but all we (and probably Dora as well) know now is that she's some acquaintance of Tai's, so her opinion on Tai's relationship is probably irrelevant to everyone involved - or should be. Dora might not ever see her again, so the sooner she stops fussing about this, the better.
