If it's a site you know and like, the odds are that the ads aren't particularly intrusive anyway.
I have ad-block disabled on several forums, blogs and webcomics because of the reasons listed in that article.

Your mannerisms and turns of phrase hark back to self-deprecation era tommydski posts. I don't think it is much of a stretch to say that there are similarities between your posts and aspects of tommy's posts, so I'm going to keep making said accusations.
