I went and saw Emily Haines with a String Quartet and I was in the third row from the front and my goodness she was amazing.

I hung out with people!

We wandered around and saw a bunch of Sydney's old buildings all lit up for the Vivid Festival!

I saw Metric in LA, holy shit. And I was already in love with Emily. If only I were taller... because I was pretty damn close to the stage. But alas my view was eclipsed because I am... 5'1".

I got a ton of stuff from my friends for my birthday and one of the best was Pocky.

(the other gifts were things like a golden lighter, LSD, a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of vodka, some vintage posters, some vinyl records, a box full of freshly baked hash brownies, some fantastic clothing; in other words this speaks not to the lack of good presents but rather to the high quality of Pocky as a gift)

Pictures from holidays have surfaced!

We went to Barcelona, I smell, so my friends keep away from me:

(I was very glad that we had finally gotten our wristbands!)

Booze was super cheap it was so awesome we had to take a picture of it:

We were really keen about seeing certain bands so we showed up 2 hours early (in this case for the New Pornographers).

We also got to see some bands in really cool locations (Sunny Day in Glasgow here):

Yeah, summer here is amazing as soon as the sun decides to show. Unfortunately I live in Norway, so it doesn't happen very often. We've had a nice couple of weeks though!

Man I hate squiggly lines like that. The poi light lines are nifty and all, but the squiggles are just rough scratches that just kind of acutely say 'this camera wasn't held steady'. Like not because you're supposed to be able to hold steady for a second free-hand, I just think they look bad and garish and detract from a shot.
Probably I am just so picky because I used to photograph things a lot.
