I actually silk-screened it myself at Wildfire, which is a twice-a-year weekend event that is basically summer camp for fire spinners (workshops and lessons all day, fire spinning and hangouts at night). They had 6 silkscreen designs and I liked this one a lot and happened to have a blank t-shirt with me.

I got pretty lucky ... there was only one color that that particular design was being screened in, and it happened to go with the color of the shirt I had with me quite well.

Halloween shit

On Saturday, I hid in a sound booth and changed into my alter-ego costume, having warned nobody (including my friends in the band that was about to go on). This random stranger asked to take a picture with me in the mosh pit in between songs.

I didn't know if there was a "Videos are pretty cool" thread or not - so this vid is going here along with (later, as I am at work) a couple of pictures of the truly epic production of Ben Hur I was involved in recently. Over two-hundred volunteers packed onstage and backstage and all that. The most fun (and hard work!) I have possibly ever had on a stage.

To be Gomez Addams and not have to explain your costume you'd need a purple velvet smoking jacket, subtle streaks of grey in your hair, and a more maniacal grin, a la the cartoon. His costume in the original show isn't distinctive enough.

Hey guys I am in Dubai!

This is just a pretty standard mosque in Dubai, but I like that the picture has the street signs in it. I was surprised by how easy it was to memorize the Eastern-Arabic numerals, but I guess there are only ten of them and three of them are very similar to the ones I'm familiar with. So.

Obligatory (albeit not great) pictures of myself.

This was in Abu Dhabi. I don't remember the name of the building (I'll ask my uncle tomorow), but I guess it was a palace built for a sheikh who then got bored with it, so they turned it into a hotel.

And then this is me in Dubai, making a silly gesture that ended up a little odd when I had to wait for the picture to be taken.

I am ridiculously happy with these two photos. They were both total flukes, but they're awesome.

This one is in Dubai Creek, and the ferryman's taking my Dirham. The image wasn't staged or anything, so I think it was pretty good considering.

And then this was a Dhow in Oman, in the Persian Gulf. The batteries in my camera were purchased at the local gas station for 2 dirhams (like fifty cents) and the camera couldn't take more than a couple of pictures at a time before dying, so I had only a few-second window of opportunity. Plus, I was also on a dhow and we weren't anchored yet.
