Andy here is the first Andy I knew, so I basically think of it as a girl's name now! I've met a couple of male Andy's here and I just think it's weird that they're named that, even though I know it's more common as a male name.

I've refused to be called Andy instead of Andrew on the grounds that it's a plumbers name. Humour ensued when I met my girlfriend Andrea, who goes as Andy. Fortunately she's an engineer with a specialisation in waste water pumping and treatment design, so basically a plumber (or as she puts it, a shit engineer).

Anyway, to me, Male Andy looks like neither a plumber or an Andy.
