Above the picture of Hunter S. Thompson, my shirt says "Pi Lam Human BBQ XXVII" (it's the shirt from my first BBQ of 5, back in 2005) and below the picture, it says "Too weird to live, too rare to die," which perfectly describes my "fraternity."

Guys I won't stop talking about how fucking crazy t was when the Dead Milkmen played this party. The show was a unified and uncontrollable whirlwind of excess.

Actually that was the shirt from this year's BBQ (homeboy who is wearing it is an active brother, so he's representing). The design is on the flyer (just the design, though, not the text).

The 2005 Hunter S. Thompson design that I wore is my personal favorite of the shirts I own, although we kinda went all out on last year's shirt design (printed onto tie-dye shirts of course), and there had been some pretty awesome designs before I showed up. 2007's was awesome, for an inside joke (we were shut out of the house for the first part of the year and kept getting told we'd get to move in in two weeks), and 2006's was OK, but some of the shirts from earlier BBQs were fantastic.

Human BBQ has happened 31 times now and it's kind of silly how big of a deal it is at this point and what kind of ludicrous shit goes on inside the house while it is happening. Only the people who live or have lived in the house really know how far it gets taken (and sometimes not even them), but at this point, there's a critical mass of people in attendance who are extremely skilled in (and enthusiastic about) the art of getting at least 6 or 7 different kinds of fucked up without a single unauthorized soul having a clue as to what's going on, and it creates this amazing feeling of being at a party that is not only as good as any party you have ever been to, but furthermore, definitely even better in ways you haven't found out about yet.

Thanks; it was indeed a pretty insane show and I did my best. I picked a rather challenging form of photography to get into as a beginner to the craft. I'm gonna post some results from my first studio photo shoot soon, if the model takes no issue.

I'm sitting in the salon of the Hotel de Bains on the Lido, just like Thomas Mann!!1! (Yes, I'm excited by that, sad but true.) It's where he stayed and where his novella Death in Venice is set! I actually saw a modern-day version of Aschenbach sitting on the terrace. No Tadzio though.

Edit: Do I have the most bent nose ever or what?? I always thought Jewish people were supposed to have crooked noses, not bent ones.
