I think I've been there! Possibly? I love Edinburgh, I made my family detour on the way back from Aberdeenshire a couple of years ago so that I could spend an evening just walking through the streets looking at stuff. We watched a fire engine crew rescue two men from the top of a flagpole on the Royal Mile (their cherry picker had broken down! It was awesome!) and then we got completely lost somewhere near the castle and then we had to get a taxi back because the buses had stopped. Edinburgh is awesome.

Its the Brass Monkey which has beds instead of couches and they cover the entire room. Every day at three they play a movie on a projector, and you're lying back sipping on good beer and watching an awesome movie.

Even though I've been here three years now, and for one of those the blind poet was right around the corner I've never been in there. Usually go to the pear tree next door cause it has the large outside area. I'll definitely go check it out sometime.

My roomate gave me a 1930's era Smith Corona that he found in his aunt's basement, and I got it for free!

Also, as long as you have the original spools for the ribbon, getting replacement ink is an easy (but messy) thing to do: go to a Staples or other office suplly store, and get a replacement cash register ribbon. The robbon itself is the same size, it's just the spools that won't fit, so you can unwind the ribbon from one spool of the cash register ribbon back onto the original from your typer.

You'll get hells of ink on your hands, but it's easy to do.

Yeah, I saw them - they rocked, as per usual. They're actually from my hometown, they used to play like every other weekend down the street from my house. I also played frisbee with the lead singer guy and gave him a ride to our commuter ferry once. Seeing them at Sasquatch was kind of surreal, but they killed. They had a massive crowd, and everyone was totally into it.

No pictures though. I don't have pics of most of the bands I enjoyed the most (Gogol Bordello, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, Crystal Castles, Deadmau5, M83, etc) because I was too busy enjoying them. :X
