In what sense are you old?
Styles change; twenty years ago I wore lots of pleat-fronted chinos - now I hate them. But my dress trousers* (bought two years ago, just before I lost a lot of weight - grr) are flat-fronted.
* By which I mean a full DJ outfit; I suppose that's what was being referred to, but I'm not sure.
