Definitely not-black trousers. I think the light shirt looks nicer on you, a little bit more comfortable and casual, whereas the dark one seems a bit more brisk and efficient, maybe? I would go light trousers and dark shirt, I think, because it just looks a little bit sharper on the edges, so to speak.

I like option #2 for the colours, and I've never applied for work at a bar so I can't comment on how formal you should go.

Dan, your fashions and people's responses are making me wonder if my monitor is bizzarre or my taste sucks, because I definitely vote for #1 and think the color pairing in 2 looks horrible :/
