You can find all of those things that are still comfortable. My rule of thumb is to always have one pair of nice dress pants in each brown and black (I don't like navy, but you could also do that) and also maybe grey, because grey goes with everything. Also get some decent shoes that can be dressed up or down in black and brown (or grey or navy or anything neutral) and you're set!

BrittanyMarie:
she basically hit everything yeah. for me though i swap out nice blouses and sweaters for button down shirts, but that is only because i can't actually wear button down shirts unless i get them tailored and even then they make me look way too top-heavy. it's either tons of gaps, way too big everywhere else, or porn star. my body type is just not meant for them, i guess.

Thinking about buying one of two sets of boots:
These

or these

The first ones are currently on sale, but still only $50 less than the second ones.

David_Dovey:
They're both pretty rubbish but the first pair less so I guess?

Re: Cardigans w/ t-shirts: Doable, but not with any ole t-shirt and any ole cardigan. Avoid cardigans with even the slightest amount of "chunk" to them.

Jace:
Well, dovey (or anyone else), if you can suggest to me some boots that don't have any or very visible zippers, are one color (dark brown or black) and under $200, I'd probably buy them. I just want some nice boots that are fairly winterproof.
