I bought that Mobius strip scarf and Klein bottle hat that someone mentioned (in another thread, sometime ago) as Christmas presents for my nephew that just got his physics degree. They arrived today, and they're so fun that I seriously think I might get another set for myself!

I know a guy that designed his own Mobius Strip scarf. He saw an article about them in his wife's knitting magazine, and the magazine said that the only way to make one would be to knit a scarf, twist it, and knit it end to end. He disagreed, so he learned to knit and designed and made his own, then sent in a letter to the magazine on how he did it. Unbefitting such a scientific journal, they didn't print his rebuttal.
