I try not to wear shirts at all because my abs look so awesome these days, especially on days when I don't eat.

This. Art school is doing wonders for my waistline, also it means I get to take my clothes off a lot.

Andy, be a life model already. Then you get paid to be naked.

I don't have a problem with yours because 1) they are opaque and 2) your sweater is long enough.

The ones where you can see underwear (or whatever) are pretty stupid.

Edit: Are those tights or stirrup pants? Because I remember having like stretchy pants when I was younger that basically looked something like jodhpurs. Those are ok, I think. Well, if you wear them with boots, maybe? DO A MORE DIFFERENT LESS DANCE-Y POSE YOU ARE CORRUPTING MY JUDGEMENT (yeah, they are pretty alright)

So a serious question.

I think I really like this dress. It is not my normal style, though. What style is it?

I would probably just copy it and make something like it myself, though, because it is so unfortunate that the colour splash and the horizontal architectural seams all end abruptly at the sides. Skimping on the back like that is always such a shame. It makes things much less cool.

Mix one part bangage dress and one part modern art quilt and tada!

They are tights as far as I can tell, super stretchy but pretty warm. I was weirded out by the feet at first but really that's the best part and needed to be in the picture (thus tiptoes) because my toes are free to breathe but the legs don't scrunch up like footless tights.

EDIT:
ps, less dance-y more kitty-y

That dress wouldn't look nearly as good if the color wrapped all the way around. I'm not even sure you want the bandage stuff going all the way around. But that's a pretty cool dress!

No, not all the way around, just like... the same amount on the back left as there is on the front left, or less.

I feel like it would be awkward if there was color on the back. Like, as is it's catchy but not quite gaudy, whereas if the back was all done up it'd be a little too "oh shit look at this dress." I mean I ain't know shit about women's dresses but I like it the way it is. Subtle is good! Especially when the dress isn't subtle.

It's an off the shoulder A line dress that I think is a Zac Posen knock off (see the similar colors in an evening dress http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/2008RST-ZPOSEN/?loop=0&&iphoto=16&play=false&cnt=23) although I can't recall reference offhand so don't quote me.  I wanted to say Missoni initially but they've gone radically different directions in the last several years so if that's who the inspiration is it's going back a while.  It looks like something Zara would sell actually, but a few seasons ago.

And yeah I completely agree with Kieffer that if the color and stripes went to the back it would be too busy.  Those colors are cute on a black relatively boringly designed dress but could easily be overwhelming.

One thing I would note is that I hope to hell the material is jersey because if it's cotton it's going to look like wrinkled crap about .0002 seconds after you put it on, and if it's a synthetic it's not going to be super comfy.

Like this! (Thanks, Jace!)

Also it is grey. And it is a stretchy polyester. It would look better in a jersey, or actually also an acetate dull satin or even a crepe.

Manda that is totally cute and acceptable. A, A+ for kittens.

re: tights as pants, and both pictures of manda.

That doesn't look entirely terrible because the top looks like it is a very short dress. It doesn't really look like you are wearing tights and then a sweater over the top, it looks like a dress. This is how I perceive it.
I also think tights as pants is stupid.

Why do they keep putting Kristen Stewart in heels when her scrawny chicken legs aren't strong enough to straighten her knees in them, anyway? Also, the panty windows are the only redeeming features of the dress. The rest is just ugly.

Hello Kitty coat

For some reason I think this would be better if they'd skinned the hello kittys and then stitched them together like a coat made from animals. Kinda like an urban fur coat thing.

Because the people that make outfits are too stupid to realize that they need to tailor (huh, wonder where that word came from) their clothing to the person when they aren't working with cookie-cutter models. You see the same problem when they have to dress someone that isn't borderline underweight.

I agree about the hello kitty coat, it would be so much better if they were sewn together.

Kieffer, Dovey: Let's do it.

Also all I wear every day to work are well-cut (not skinny) jeans and chucks or maybe these cute flats and a printed t-shirt with a slightly too-big cardigan with the sleeves rolled up. Oh and my big nerdy glasses.

But when I go out I like to do it nice.
What I wore last night was pretty much similar to Manda's tights outfit but I wore a black miniskirt underneath just in case and my sweater was more a winey colour with a subtle silver thread, and my burgundy chucks. Oh, and my big nerdy glasses. (Actually it was that sweater too.)

They just don't bring anything to the table, in my mind. Done wrong, they are horrible. Done "right," they are less than horrible but still aren't as good as a truly sweet outfit. I just can't get behind a style that requires people as cute as Manda or Andy to bring the look up to "mediocre."

Different people demand different things of their everyday wear. I know you live on a farm (at least I think you do, and I remember you posting some pictures with farm backgrounds), so you can appreciate that the outfits you post here aren't suited to every purpose.

Also, Dita Von Teese has yet to make a true fashion faux pas in all the publicity shots I've seen of her over the years. That particular look is very posh early 50s. Because vintage is what she does! I never understood why people said she looked "goth" simply because she hung around Marilyn Manson and like married him or some shit.

LIES.  NODAISHO IS SPREADING LIES ABOUT ME.  I DO NOT LIVE ON A FARM.  I LIVE BETWEEN DITA'S BREASTS IN HER PALACE IN THE MAGELLAN CLUSTER.  PLEASE SEND SUNGLASSES, THERE IS TOO MUCH WHITE HERE.
I was talking to Drill King, you just posted before I finished my post.

I uh, I have never lived on a farm, I live in my provinces' capital city now. I used to live in a smallish town though.

Hey guys, I was not saying there is anything wrong with teesnjeans, actually my favorite sexy man look is well-worn jeans, white/black shirt and scruff. But like, oh never mind.

I was thinking about advice in here seriously the other day then I realized that most people in here giving advice standard-dress is t-shirtjeans faire, not even like, nice jeans.

Just cos Levis are all I can afford, Andy, what-freaking-ever.
