Actually, tommy, he might be making fun of the thread, but it could be justified? There is some pretty terrible clothing going on in these pages, and he actually looks like I could see some QC boarders dressing, in the first photo at least.

The second outfit I kind of like, but he needs better sneakers, different color on the shorts so the juxtaposition with the T-shirt isn't so stark, and he should have his hair fauxhawked to really complete the look. Also a track jacket, possibly beige with red detailing, or vice versa, and a light summer scarf.

I just spent all afternoon thrifting. I am so happy with my many purchases except for a cute black knit sweater that I didn't realise was basically midriff, and the fact that I didn't buy that shin-length grey wool pleated skirt and I really should have. I found the most AMAZING cream leather vintage heels and a little eggplant coloured shrug from Seduce that matches my eggplant tights nicely, and a pair of beautifully worn but only very very slightly too big Lucky brand jeans, and a pale peach chiffony top to wear with my good jeans.
Also I found a pair of extra thick ribbed black tights in my washing that aren't actually mine, I wore them yesterday, they are sooo warm, and a black felt beret that was left neglected at our table at trivia. FREE SHIT YEEEAAAHHH.
And I just got my Topatoco order so I now own a couple new t-shirts and that Pictures for Sad Children tote.

I actually I find those cabinets to be quite tasteful, though the position of the handles on the doors seems a bit awkward.

I heart the fuck out of this coat (mostly because I got it for $1.50). But what color shirt/tie/pants should I pair with it?

Colors are funky in that picture, but you want a similarly colored pair of pants, warm colored shirt, plain tie, darker than shirt, possibly slightly cooler for a contrast.

If I'm reading the colors right, Shane, go with a cream/off white shirt, brown pants + shoes, and pick a tie that is a contrast color in the coat. I can't tell what they are exactly, but from the coats I've seen like that, they tend to have hints of red, orange, blue etc. hidden in it and it would be cool to have a solid color tie that picked up one of those colors.

Please, I don't think I would ever seriously consider storing my goods in cabinets with handles in the center, it's just awkward. Everyone knows second class levers are way more efficient than third class levers.

Hats: Y/N what kind?

Mostly I am talking hats for women here. I think we should start a revival of pretty hats; the men have theirs, with their celebrity champions such as Pete Doherty. Where are the women in hats?

My favourite type of headgear at the moment is the fascinator.

But I also like casual summery hats

and posh hats for parties and weddings

Please show me your hats! And I would like to know how to find a pretty hat that doesn't look too OTT or make me look like I'm dressing up in my mother's millinery. Any hat experts in the thread?

That's my problem, I look daft in big hats. That's one of the reasons I love fascinators so much, they're small enough that they don't look daft and dressy and pretty and all the things that appeal to me about hats. I've never had any reason to own one though, and they're too expensive to buy for dressup. Perhaps when my mum finally gets round to getting married I shall get one and wear it with pride.

The only hats that l really like wearing are cloche/flapper style hats, mod/60s style hats, hats like this hat I'm wearing, and my myriad of funky knitted hats. I would wear hats that looked appropriate for Ascot if I had an excuse, but I try them on in stores just for the hell of it.

So, i'm getting married a year from now and I am considering a black tux with white shirt/vest/tie combo, something like:

this is how it would look on a guy skinnier than me

and this is how it would like like on a guy suaver than me

Maybe not that exact style, but that color combination. any thoughts?

I like it!

One of the things that makes it look great in the first model picture is that the vest is fully visible with the jacket parted.

In your picture, it's almost hidden and that's kind of throwing me off.
