Be warned, nerdy guys can get really into clothes sometimes. It's like our personalities are set so that we are either completely uninterested, or hopelessly obsessed.
Pretty much this.
Oh God this so much. I blame you, Q.C. Forums.
Anyway, Emaline, about the cost thing, it's kind of lame I know, but it really is just a matter of having to accept that this is what things cost. Of course, a lot of the time spending more money means you are paying for quality and that will translate into clothes that last longer and may end up saving you money- emphasis on may, of course.
Also, there's always thrift stores, but as has been noted previously in here, thrift shopping means trading cost for effort.
Also, more blogs!:
A Suitable Wardrobe- Probably fits more into the "aspirational" category than actual practical advice.
The Selvedge Yard- not completely fashion oriented, but what posts it has are very good. Also all the other stuff is wicked manly and interesting anyway.
Street EtiquetteI'm also going to re-recommend Antonio Centeno's
Style Guide here.
Real men don't need internet websites to tell them how to rotate car tires or split firewood.
That's pretty much the point! I am by no means a real man but AoM and other resources are helping!
