I'm not a big fan of beer. Or in fact of most alcohol, although I occasionally like a glass of good wine. The only drink I'd really choose to have if it's there is port, and that's expensive.

I like me some mead once in a while. Thankfully, the supermarket literally 4 minutes away stock it, and it is cheap. Though if I open a bottle, it's usually still in my fridge 2 years later - that's how often I drink.

I have resealy-cork things. Does that count as leaving it open?

Skewbrow:
If it's not decent whisky, I would say, yes, it is sacrilege to reseal. Don't do this with wine or beer. With good whisky, OTOH, it would be sacrilege not to! Well matured whisky is best enjoyed, when you're sober enough to cherish the distinguished flavors.

Just made my way home from the end-of-the-season party of my home municipality senior (40+) floorball team. After some sauna, jacuzzi/whirlpool, dining and after-party beer + roasted chili nuts, I feel kind of wasted. Two imperial pints (cans), 4 bottles, and one metric pint (=half a liter) later I'm sorta done (and spleeling kinda random). It was fun, though. It was my turn to make the after-dinner toast, which I did fine. Reciting my favorite poet and all that jazz. The drag was that my towel kept falling off at the critical moments, when I reached the high points of my speech. Them teammates kept cheering me on, though.

But in the end we're all jolly good fellows, so all's well that ends well.
