The whole mess is bringing out Hanners issues with relationships. Her OCD and related problems prevent her from having a romantic relationship with anyone, and now one of the ones that allow her to experience romance vicariously might be in trouble. Then there's Marten arguing with his mom, which has to be upsetting for someone who barely has a relationship with her own distant and emotionally stunted mother. Hopefully we aren't about to see Marigold walk in freaked out about something to push the pressure even higher.
