Method of Madness:
Ahhh, that's why I couldn't find the strip. I thought it happened during the wedding arc.

Zebediah:

Actually, even in our world if you google "Veronica Vance" the first result is the "Veronica Reed" page on the QC wiki.

ihs:
As someone who's been out of the dating scene for quite some time (happily married 16 years; you dad-gummed kids and your internet these days!), what's the real-life etiquette regarding Googling a prospective date?  I don't know that I would personally be bothered by it, but then, I have nothing to hide.

Thrillho:
It's a bit of a weird cycle.

On one the one hand it could be seen as an invasion of privacy and quite rude to find out information about someone that they have not chosen to disclose to you.

On the other hand if you put that information on the internet without any privacy settings, it is naive of you to not expect people to find it.

Neko_Ali:
Honestly, I figure most people would google a prospective date. Kind of the same way pre-internet saturation you would ask friends and acquaintances about someone you were going to go out with or thinking about going out with. It's just a simple precaution. However, it's kind of thought of as gauche to tell the other person you investigated them before going on the date.

Veronica has never made a particular secret of her professional life. So it really shouldn't have been any kind of surprise that Jim already knows what she does. Bonus points that he doesn't seem to be either bothered or eager about her job. Just "oh yeah, that's what you do".

I also apparently have an incredibly common name. Even if I limit it to the general area where I live, there are still dozens of people who share my name. So... sweet, blissful anonymity?
