I still wonder if Alice may be a 'visitor'. Like several people have said before, the general feel I've got so far is a relatively primitive/isolated agrarian community into which Alice and high-technology have come. She's perceived as a witch because of her ability to use technology and her understanding of the sciences.
I still wonder if it's something like a de-cubed Minecraft world with the farmers as Testiculates (the native villagers) and Alice is a feminised Steve who is busy building up her resources and tech base prior to an attempt to take down the Ender Dragon and then Galacticraft her way home.

Should this be "Testificate"? Testiculate is rather different.
