--- Quote from: Fig on 20 Nov 2014, 22:08 ---I could figuratively feel three new cavities forming in my teeth after reading this. So frakkin' adorable.

I actually did crack a tooth shortly after reading QC this morning. To the dentist! :-(
MooskiNet:
One wonders if it makes Jeph as happy to see his characters this way as it does his readers.
I hope so; you bring that much happiness, you deserve to share.
Like ice cream.

They aren't quite ready for the 1812 Overture.

Really surprised no-one acknowledged this as a level 10 groaner.
One that can upset the tum so much, I'd have to get a loan of some antacid. Maybe some borrowed Eno.
3.9k decisquee and rising.

I see what you did there. Very Discreet. :-)

See, now I'm confused. Like decibels or decimeters? -- whoah, lets not go there again ---
Of course, if you meant deci as in decimeter, then 3.9k decisquee is equal to 39,000 squee. 39,000 or 103900. Either way, that's an alarming amount of squee. I just want to be Claire hear.
--- End quote ---
The thing is, how big is a squee? Having worked as a Beaver and Cub Scout Leader for a while I can tell you that the squee coefficient and threshold levels vary from rugrat to yardape to adolescent and knows no gender bounds until adolescence.
What we need is a reproducible and consistent measure of cuteness. I propose we use the Kitten as a baseline unit of measure.
Now my question to those more pedantic/analytical than myself is this: Would the scale be linear, logarithmic, exponential or something completely different like Banana?
--- Quote from: Lubricus on 21 Nov 2014, 02:59 ---What exactly is "French" vanilla? Vanilla is grown on tropical and subtropical islands, like Madagascar and Reunion, so I'm guessing we're not talking about the spice's origin.
--- End quote ---
French vanilla. The name refers not to a vanilla variety but to the classic French way of making ice cream using an egg-custard base.
.... aaaand someone beat me to it by a dozen posts or so ....

maybe but I have the nagging feeling that Jeph is just building up the positive karma before dropping the Tactical Drama Nukes.

Based on some posts on Jeph's twitter feed, he's having a particularly happy time in his life right now. Maybe he wants to reflect this in his art?
In any case, it is my feeling that he intends to create a dichotomy of the beginning of Marten x Claire and the end of Angus x Faye. So, yeah, I'm still expecting the decisive meeting of the latter at some time soon, possibly next week. Then for an emotionally exhausted Faye to come home and feel even more guilty that she's a downer after Marten had such a good time.
