How will the year end? With the Yelling Bird crew doing something surreal and bizarre.

Then, on Tuesday, we rejoin the main QC universe 28 days later. There is only a 33% chance that there has been a zombie apocalypse whilst we were away.

but having tasted on that cruise/ I hold with those who favor booze
not to say that destruction fire/would draw my ire

Damnit, and I wanted to be the one to riff on that quote. =P Well, if not squee, then fire - because we all know that Pintsize would be the one to blame.

Some say '14 will end in squee,
Some say in d'awww.
From what I've tasted of QC
I hold with those who favor squee.
But since the other has no flaws,
I think I know enough of Jeph
To say that for the New Year d'awww
Will leave bereft
No one at all.

Something tells me that breakfast at the YB Crew's house can get a little... fraught.

So, what happens for the rest of the week?

As far as I can tell, there are basically two ways Jeph can take this. He can either resume where he left off or time-skip ahead. Let me justify that second one - I'm arguing that there is nothing currently open, with the exception of Emily and Clinton, that necessarily requires a 'what happens immediately after' strip. Faye seems to have made up her mind about Angus and is seemingly at peace with her choice. Marten and Claire seem stable at the moment. I've got the feeling that Hannelore's clothing incident was just a interlude because Jeph didn't want to focus on events around the Library Interns to the exception of all else.

IMHO, the only current story thread that could be said to need an immediate continuation is what will happen with Emily and Clinton. However, even that could be handled with a 'offhand flashback comment' if Jeph doesn't want to go into detail about it.

My call? There will probably only be three narrative strips this week (Thursday 1/1 will almost certainly will just be a single-panel 'greeting card' like last Thursday's). It is the ideal week to close off Emily and Claire's conversation and wrap up this calender year by wrapping up the events of the Summer of Love and Heartbreak. Then Jeph can start the new year with events further into Fall, in-strip.

Given their current, non-vaporized state,  can we conclude that Sweet Tits and  Yelling Bird are the immortals of the QCverse?

Clearly Yelling Bird is the Trickster.  Perhaps ST is God.

We'll have Tai casually drop into the conversation that she was brought up in the Church of ST, but is now agnostic.

No, it proves is that the YB Crew strips take place in a Toon-verse where normal laws of physics and reality do not apply and even the largest explosion only causes the damage that you want it to.

It's not even a problem unless at least one of them is accordion-compressed. And then you just walk it off (with appropriate wheezing sounds).

Hot pockets are actually really easy to make. Just buy a package of puff pastry, cut both sheets into six equally sized rectangles each, then load 'em up with whatever you like. Brush the edges with some beaten egg, then smush on the tops and bake 'em. So damn tasty. Eat one fresh out of the oven, then fridge or freezer the rest.

Not necessarily and certainly not immediately. That said, I could see Tai complaining to the others at the library how the breach with her family is affecting Dora (because I can see the Bianchis taking Sven's side).

I agree on the not immediately (even though i'm actually looking forward to that arc), I think Jeph is likely to wrap up (at least temporarily) Emily/Clinton before he does any other real plot developments. I'd like to see more of a capstone on Faye/Angus, but it is true not everything in life actually gets closure

So, either the Emilysmooch was completely harmless, or it was all part of her (and perhaps Tai's?) devious plan to nudge Marten in Claire's direction.  Hmm.  I can kind of see the latter happening...

Or she kinda liked him but not to the extent that she's upset that she can't have him. Also wow, Tai can jump.

So, either the Emilysmooch was completely harmless, or it was all part of her (and perhaps Tai's?) devious plan to nudge Marten in Claire's direction.  Hmm.  I can kind of see the latter happening...

I don't know if I like the idea of Emily having master plans.

Nah, it was nothing but a "Thanks for being so gallant" smooch. Emily's as devious as a goldfish.

A "buttload" is an actual measurement, next time someone tells you that they need a buttload of something, tell them 126 gallons might be a bit too much.

Kiss what goodbye? Since bending over is involved, I'm assuming it's a butt.
