I do not think Pintsize runs Windows, and Marten would never trust Pintsize with his files. Come to think of it, I cannot recall Marten ever having used a PC in the series?
Way back when it was still a thing, Marten used Pintsize to help him set up and update his blog on popular music. At the time, Pintsize showed that he has word-processing software installed. He asked Marten if he wanted to use the keyboard or stick with voice input.
I suppose that this is Jeph's way of drawing a comedic contrast with Momo's suboptimal but content life. May just reminds us just how much worse life could be, especially in the field of front-line retail! At least we know why she was sticky that time - That slushie machine looks like it dreams of being Mount Vesuvius!
FWIW, I don't expect Jeph to continue this next week. He's just playing it for laughs.
Agreed, it is a funny contrast to Momo, but not a theme that will stretch into next week. May is not happy with her job, and has a bad attitude towards her customers, coworkers, and boss. Still, the boss must be satisfied with her job, as he wants her to take on extra work. He might be an asshole, but he might also have legitimate reasons (such as a sick coworker) to ask her to step in.
FWIW, I think that it is a robot thing. The floppy-haired kid thinks that, because May is an AI, she is all-knowing and immune to the 'ick' factor of leaking slushie syrup, so she's the ideal choice to troubleshoot, fix and clean the machine. Similarly, her boss is assuming that, as an AI, she doesn't have a personal life or a need for rest and recreation, so she can work as many shifts as he wants.
The horrible thing about the latter assumption is he's probably right. Except the support group, I bet that May
doesn't have much in the way of out-of-work activities, which is something that I'd like Jeph to address some time; maybe a rare intelligent customer who (as with Angus and Faye) likes her attitude and wants to know her better. Additionally, I bet she's really racking up the money with all the shifts that she works. When she actually
looks at her balance, I bet that she'll feel a lot more positive about it
and buy that Harley touring bike she's had her eye on.
