I'm sticking with my idea that she'll try to be curmudgeon but will find herself actually enjoying the event. Emily will weird her out because she's Emily and she may find that Pintsize, Winslow and Momo surprise her; I've got the feeling that she's no more 'into' associating with AIs than she is with humans.

I believe so; Faye has insisted that she doesn't want Marten to abstain just because of her but being around all those people who are drinking? That's a test that I don't think she's even hypothetically considered yet.

A Prediction:
Faye will be about to sneak a drink when Bubbles, to whom she has 'come out' as someone fighting alcoholism, suddenly appears next to her and grabs her wrist in a vice-like grip. "You don't want to do that."

Faye responds with a rant about how she can have 'one damn drink' without falling off the wagon and how at least this solves the mystery of whether Bubbles wants to be a friend. Bubbles' response is something like this: "I have limited experience with friendship, but I would imagine that a true friend would prevent you from carrying out a self-destructive behaviour path, irrespective of your own immediate feelings on the matter." That's when Faye breaks down and realises that Bubbles is her friend.

I wonder who will show up. Myriads of possibilities come to my mind:

- Will Bubbles actually come? Will she have a good time or will she just stare around in her misantrophy?
- Will Momo be there and have a conversation with her?

- Will Marigold be there and immediately go nuts over meeting a real battle mecha?
- Will Clinton be there and do something embarassing for basically the same reason?
- Will Emily be there and be, well, Emily?
- Will Hanners be there and will Bubbles go like, what, youŽre WHO?
- Will Dora be there and have a word with Faye?
- Will Tai be there and will her pants make their way into the dishwasher again?

Questions over questions. I think weŽre in for an interesting evening.

I'm sure that Bubbles can handle any amount of ridiculous human behaviour. The real test will be how she handles Tai the Shipper.

TAI: "You know what she needs, Faye? A girlfriend!"

TAI and FAYE both turn and look at an uncomfortable-looking BUBBLES in dangerously speculative manner.

BUBBLES: "If I could hyperventilate, that's what I'd be doing right now."
