I learned what parquetry was tonight!

Marten has always shown himself inclined to drink at parties. It seems likely he's decided not to drink in front of Faye no matter how much she insists she's cool with it. A nice decision--going the extra mile for a friend who doesn't have a problem with his drinking but will surely appreciate not having to be the only sober one in the room.
I do hope he ran this past Claire before speaking for her. Probably there was a phonecall between the last two strips: "Hey, Faye's having a party tonight! Come over! And, uh, hey, since Faye's on the wagon, maybe it'd be nice if we..."

Bubbles might have a "living in a world made of cardboard" problem. I wonder what her mass is, for example, and what it might do to furniture.

I've done parquetry and this is the first I've heard the word.
Well, I say I've done it. I built a box for my sister and I got all fancy with the way I cut the wood for the lid. It turned out pretty good, actually. I went to visit her recently, it's a centerpiece of her living room, and it's way nicer-looking than I remember it being.

I suspect her mass, given the military nature of her armor, is heavy as fuck. I also think she's so used to it at this point that she doesn't sit on anything she can't guarantee is able to hold her weight
