Strangely though, I still enjoy playing my Peavey with it's dirty old strings I never got around to changing. That dull, barely-any-sustain sound really appeals to me sometimes for some reason.
I know how you feel! I defretted my Fender PBass under the influence of some Pastorious, and though it's much harder to play than my recently aquired Fretless, I still love going back to it and struggling with the bad intonation and worn fretboard!
