She is certainly interested in female anatomy, if nothing else.

--- Quote from: DSL on 22 Dec 2015, 09:25 ---... In my travels I frequent truckstops. At the coffee dispenser counters there are, more often than not, little creamer style plastic cups containing a substance called Stok. It's for adding caffeine to your coffee. The concept frightens me. The concept of someone piloting 40-plus tons of diesel-powered commerce while jazzing on it ... yikes.

Yep, yep.  We used to do the same thing on all-night coding runs, crumbling a no-doz into every can of soft drinks.  We called it "Coke with a Kick."  Does it make you any happier to think of the people who wrote your operating system or accounting software being wired to the eyeballs when we did it?

I don't know about 'happier' but I can certainly say 'unsurprised' :-P

Well, the soft drink of the German hacker scene is Club Mate, a carbonated "ice tea" based on yerba mate (it actually doesn't have too much in common with it). It has 20mg/100ml caffeine, so a 0.5l bottle has 100mg of caffeine, which is two and a half of these Stok shots.

The wiki of our hackerspace has a category called "Tasty things with Mate", which contains edible/drinkable and unedible/undrinkable mixtures on the basis of Club Mate. Starting with the common cocktail "Tschunk" (crushed ice, chunks of lime, cane sugar, rum and Mate) and going as far as the "GewürzKoMa" (a diced gherkin, cane sugar, Korn schnaps, crushed ice, Mate) which was developed as a desperate and surprisingly drinkable substitute for Tschunk, when they ran out of ingredients during a party.

The wiki also contains the Mate++, which is Mate with a caffeine pill. Also called Mate EL (enhanced lethality). According to the wiki the highest somebody ever took this was a Mate+6 (that's 6 pills, with 200mg each. This results in 1300mg of caffeine. Lethal doses can start at 2000). There's also the possibility of putting guarana powder into the Mate, which makes it a "Mate of Insomnia". The wiki also mentions a prophesy, according to which somebody who consumes a Mate of Insomnia+8 will cast off the yoke of sleep forever. It fails to mention that this probably works by dying.

Method of Madness:
Wouldn't dying be literally the opposite of never sleeping again?
