ankhtahr:
Well, I wouldn't consider death and sleep the same thing. Sleep is your body regenerating. Death is your body degenerating.
Method of Madness:
Both involve not being awake. Death is, from the relevant party's perspective, just dreamless sleep that never ends.
...probably.
sitnspin:
That's not entirely true, though. "Awake" is not a binary thing. Sleep and wakefulness are different brain states and different levels of consciousness, but you are still conscious, the brain is still functioning and processing information, from both internal and external sources. In death there is no consciousness or brain activity.

--- Quote from: DSL on 22 Dec 2015, 09:25 ---... In my travels I frequent truckstops. At the coffee dispenser counters there are, more often than not, little creamer style plastic cups containing a substance called Stok. It's for adding caffeine to your coffee. The concept frightens me. The concept of someone piloting 40-plus tons of diesel-powered commerce while jazzing on it ... yikes.

Yep, yep. We used to do the same thing on all-night coding runs, crumbling a no-doz into every can of soft drinks. We called it "Coke with a Kick." Does it make you any happier to think of the people who wrote your operating system or accounting software being wired to the eyeballs when we did it?

That, plus the earlier reply about espresso shots taken straight -- explains quite a few things and a few people of my experience and acquaintance.
BenRG:
New comic up!
Sometimes, I do find myself thinking that Bubbles enjoys delivering these dry put-downs to Faye. I also think that, her denials aside, she does want and need someone to whom she can say these things. She's admitted these truths to herself a long time ago, of course. Saying it to someone else...? Well, that's a different thing altogether.
Plus... Yeah... Building a microwave oven for fun? Each to their own, I suppose; we all have our little hobbies! Faye's, for example, appears to be semi-serious mockery of her friends.
