Okay, I have no doubt whatsoever that some of these are so 'out of here' that they're actually coming back!

FWIW, the only option that I think is actually likely is going back to CoD to see how Penny handles Emily and vice-versa. Beyond that, there isn't any currently loose end that cries out to be addressed. Don't lie though; you'd all love to see the cast in period costumes!

Well, we've finally had a time skip. Assuming that Dora has just not cut her hair for a while, I'd say we're looking at several months having passed. We'll need to see outside to be sure but it's probably November or December, in-universe now!

Speaking of hair, was I the only one who didn't recognize Dora at first? Emily's hair is probably tied back for hygiene reasons, but it's cute.

They live in a world filled with sentient machines and yet Dora is puzzled by people treating the Espresso machine as if it is alive. Then again, given that Emily and Hannelore seem to be worshipping it, maybe Dora is right to be disturbed!

I'm reading it as coming to the end of her probation period. Six to twelve weeks would be about right, IMO.

Whooo, time skip! Comparing Doras hair to #3115 two weeks ago I´d say about half a year if her hair is growing fast. If it´s growing slow it could be almost a year. But the last time Jeph jumped ahead about half a year her hair had grown significantly too. So I suppose it will be around winter or maybe spring. 
Before I recognised the jump I thought it was Emily with Cosette.

Before I recognised the jump I thought it was Emily with Cosette. 

That was my first thought as well. I did find it strange that Cosette was wearing an Opeth shirt though, she doesn't strike me as a girl who enjoys that kind of music.

Okay, so in response to jheartney's question, here are my guesses (and I emphasise 'guess'):

• Marten and Claire are still together; Claire is having a hard time with this being her last year of her Master's degree in Library Sciences but things are slowly happening; they're both currently angsting about whether Claire should move into the apartment; Mrs Augustus is very keen for this to happen;
• Dora and Tai are continuing to become less like college girlfriends and more like a long-term adult couple. Tai has ended her lease on her digs, feeling confident enough in herself and Dora to move into Dora's apartment in Amhurst;
• Faye, as part of her attempts to help Bubbles, has been getting into the AIs' cultural scene and finding it surprisingly similar to its human counterpart in most ways. Bubbles is continually annoyed by other Synthetics ragging her about being a 'Squishy Socket Jack'; she continually refuses to explain to Faye what that means, growling about 'obscenities';
• A 'musical chairs' room-swap involving Marigold, Momo, Dale and May appears to be in the offing; May has, with her usual charm, actually approached Bubbles over this as she and Momo would be better able to afford the lease on Marigold and Angus's old place if they had a third roomie;
• Clinton and Emily seem to be quite happy to be in a 'very best friends' relationship, although whether Emily would like to push things further is up for debate; Clinton is having a hard time interpreting her very affectionate behaviour; Claire is pushing him to 'make the next move' but he's more-or-less happy how things are;
• As we saw in today's strip, Emily has settled in well at CoD and has developed her own celebrity status as the 'Weird Nickname Girl';
• Jim has proposed to Veronica; she has asked for time; whilst she'd like to stay with him, the wounds of the failure of her first marriage run deep;
• Hannelore is still her usual self; she's still seeing Sven regularly and Dora is still worried that either Hanners or Sven may hurt the other unintentionally;
• Pintsize and Winslow have been secretive about something but Faye has seen Pintsize hanging out at the Fighting Arena and has seen him talking to Corpse Witch.

I didn't have any problem identifying Emily myself; her almond-shaped eyes are very distinctive; I don't think any other regular character has a similar face to hers.

I don't expect this is an actual time warp; juggling several different story lines means sometimes one line goes faster and a bit further then others. This one just confirms Emily has joined CoD for the long run after managing to make friends with Mister Burny.

I am a bit sad we missed the hang-over party though

Look at panel three. Imagine their hairdo beeing the same and Doras head a bit larger, the same as Emilys. I think they could pass as twins then.

I didn't recognize Dora at first either. My silly and unrealistic expectations of the time skip. Marten and Claire have broken up. It was so horrible that nobody will speak of the reasons why turning it into a Noodle Incident.  They just stare daggers at each other. Which is awkward because Claire is now the manager of the library. Tai on the other hand has quit... She and Dora are married now with their first child on the way. They really HAVE been working on the technology. Hanners made a lovely flower girl. Marten is now dating Bleminda. However it will be a year and a half before we learn her actual real name.

She looks like she could be Marigold's little sister... the face reminded me of early Marigold, and the hair...

You know, I like that every time Jeph draws Dora in a metal shirt, it's literally just a black shirt with the band name written on. I respect Jeph's policy decision to say "fuck it, I'm not drawing all this fancy shit."

Yes. In the last panel, Emily's and Dora's faces look almost the same. But I'm not going to point the bone; I can't draw for toffee.
