I recently read a comment from someone in a human service profession that people often identify with their problems and are afraid to lose them because they'd be mutilating their sense of self.

Truth.  Change is scary to a great many people.  They'll keep hitting their head on a brick wall because that they know how to do.

Attachment can be a subtle thing that creeps up on you from unexpected directions.

Comfort pillow-patting is adorable, and so is Hanners's new hair.
