Jeph's art has got REALLY good lately. I love May's expression when she's trying to sneak in in the first panel.

Eh - actually i'd say he peaked around the late 2000s-early 3000s.  Compare the current art here: (https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3989) with the same bunch here: (https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2798).  The current stuff strikes me as more 'cartoonish' compared to the greater realism of the previous work.  The lips are the most obvious difference.  Jeph is obviously capable of doing both styles so he must have made the change for a reason.

Changes in hormones because of regular sexual activity is a thing and can lead to this change without the need for medication.

Also, just being on birth control can clear it up.

Sex is actually good for the complexion.

See that's interesting, because I felt like I knew that, but had zero science to back it up.

Might make you greasy of face in the specific moment, mind. Especially if your partner has oily skin like mine.

pwhodges:
These are not formal medical references, so take them with a pinch of salt:

Effects of hormone levels on skin
So, maybe sex improves the balance of the hormones and so reduces acne that has built up in frustrated teens?
Well, some people seem to think it could.
