I recall him switching tools from Photoshop to Manga Studio, and I think it was somewhere in that period. Could easily be some differences in the tools encouraging stylistic shift?

If so, her hair in comic 3854 doesn't look much different from the previous comic where she said she wanted to lengthen it.  Her comment in the first panel could mean that Bubbles said it looked nice after a 2nd round in the vat, or it could just mean that Bubbles convinced her it looked fine as is and Momo didn't need to go another round.

On the other hand, it could also be seen as Dale expressing concern for May and not wanting his friend to end up in Robot Jail again.
