That's one of the functions of this arc - she's got a mission and has forgotten all about it.  Teddy Roosevelt's self Rx for depression was, "Get action!"

BenRG:
I'm wondering how long Winslow has sat there, talking to the emu about his problems? In any case, I'm sure the emu is wondering why the polite not-a-human is sitting there and making noises rather than giving her grain! That's what the other not-a-human at the laboratory does! Seriously, I really think that the reason that she isn't being aggressive is because Winslow and Chimevera look human but don't smell humuan, so she's allowing her better nature win out.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure that the current location is a Chekhov's Office. It may be a hint about the solution to Winslow's problems, to May's or to both.

Great GIF work today, Jeph! I hesitate to guess how long it took to create all the frames for the 'glitching cloak' effect!

ZoeB:
Some of us are easily emused.

I had the knee-jerk reaction of "birds have a rather poor sense of smell, so that's probably not a factor", but then I looked it up. Fun fact: emus are actually among the relatively rare bird species to have a keen sense of smell (at least based on my quick Google search).

This has nothing to do with anything, but I thought it was a neat thing to share.

mahlernut:
This immediately reminded me of Roko's tripping episode when robo-drunk...was it the digi-booze-induced equilibrium problems that made her fall down, or did the stealth emu trip her???   :psyduck:

I mean, obviously the former.  But it'd be a funny retcon
