Being a person of cheap disposition, I own a glue gun that works only when plugged in to the wall. There are rechargeable types; I have seen them in the store next to the cheap ones.

The butt catalog being called 'Thicc' amused me.

I'm just waiting for Pintsize to appear out of no where saying something about a having a disturbance in the force. Him then going into extreme detail about all the products Thicc has available.

Google provides the answer.

Although common sense would tell you that there would be different types of glue guns for different purposes. Industrial grade might require a continuous power supply that a battery might not be able to provide. A hobbyist might just have something that charges for five minutes.

It's not that hard to get a high enough temperature to melt the adhesive, all of the power is really going into the heating element since it's basically just opening and closing a valve when you use the gun. It likely takes up less power than cordless drills, screwdrivers, and saws. You need portability in a lot of the non-crafting uses, cordless gives you that.

Yeah, I have seen silicone implants on various videos about cosmetic surgery. They're kind of weird looking and it is hard not to laugh at the thought of people paying to have wibbly-wobbly jellies put in their bodies for aesthetic reasons. I wonder, does say something about how context-sensitive humour is? Something can look funny but then become invisible and even desirable when being used in the proper way?

I just love Sam: Her joy at not accidentally gluing Chimevera's legs together... at actually having done something at the shop... and her offended dignity in panel 2. Only a teenager can declaim their maturity in that way!

Chimevera's reaction to Sam throughout has been very interesting. I'm really hoping that we see more of her and that she somehow develops a connection with Sam. Maybe she part-times as a student counsellor at Sam's school? Or maybe she's the research lab's rep at Careers Week? I just think that the two of them would make a great double-act!

Please don't invoke common sense - most nominations for the Darwin awards end up being created that way.
Not that long ago it was common sense that cigarettes were good for you.

Or both?!

I wonder... A few years ago I was looking at an Australian kids book from the turn of the 19th/20thC. Amongst other things it railed against all the evil effects of cigarette smoking, many of which lined up with current proven health effects. I'm already learning that when people a third of my age talk about what people my age believed when we were their age they are frequently wrong! (that sentence badly needs untangling, but its late at night here and bedtime for old men...)

I foresee Sam making friends with the emu and persuading it to go home to the lab.  Sam may get a part time gig there, maybe along with Winslow, as emu wranglers.  With Winslow's demonstrated counseling skills, he may be able to negotiate peace between Chimevera & Jones and the emu.  I agree, Chimevera & Jones deserve to be part of the background cast at the very least.  I don't recall Sam and Winslow meeting, at least not since he's acquired his android chassis.

And that's definitely a corded glue gun.  The serious cordless ones use the same battery packs as cordless drills and such.  There are flashlight-batteries-in-the-handle models, but the grip on that one is 'way too slender.

Ibsuspect regional variation is accountable for some it. Pop culture and other sources of second-hand information is likely the source of the rest. Especially if/when someone is deliberately rewriting the history books. Though, that can go either way depending on intent.

Panel 1 today aligns with a headcanon that I've had for a while - That a lot of the better chassis have the ability to data-transfer by physical contact. That's why I suspect that the AI-to-AI equivalent of a kiss (and remember that robot sex is basically swapping data packets) is an intimate gesture like putting their forheads together and 'pinging' each other. That might explain why, when they're hugging, Bubbles touches her forehead to Faye's - She's kissing her girlfriend in her own way!

I'm afraid that Jeph is right, by the way: There's just something about wibby-wobbly things that make odd noises. I think that Sam will find it incredibly hard to put down that old demonstration sample and do anything more productive today!

Finally, if Jones can't find his own way home without Chimevera, her being absent-minded and forgetting him is the least of the problems. It might also explain why the emu's cloak was installed and active: Chimevera forgot that they'd agreed it was a bad idea. Who knows what else she may have forgotten to scrub from the plan or, even worse, how many safety precautions she forgot to implement?

I know a woman who got hers because they increased her income.  She gives group and private swimming lessons and the better she looks in a swimsuit, the more she makes.  She loves her implants and doesn't care who knows they're implants.  To her, large boobs are "Magic."

I find it amusing that May has such an eye for large breasts, yet having a "bomb rack" of her own in her current chassis wouldn't look right at all...  Butt implants are often the same - the larger they are, the more ridiculous they look, to me.  But then, I'm not particularly infatuated with either, so what do I know?!?

Would you believe that you are quite right and yet wrong?  :psyduck:

Once the tobacco industry became Big Tobacco post Great War [drug of choice in the trenches] they had the clout [money and political connections] to shape the market in their favour, through advertising, political lobbying, medical promotion, paid for positive studies, bought and paid for legislation, etc.
The same thing happened during the second world war but with coffee though it has a much longer and more storied history.
There is an amazing documentary or three on the subject.

Guess who are the biggest investors and financial beneficiaries in Vaping today?

( For those of you who slept through the 1890's, Trilby O'Ferrall was a girl working in Paris as an artists' model. For her feet. )

The fictional heroine of George du Maurier's novel Trilby, no?
