Sorry to be a bit American-centric with this, but here are some lesser known factoids about the history of Thanksgiving Day in America.

• The Pilgrim Fathers at the Plymouth Feast in 1621 weren't Puritans. They were Brownist Separatists.
• The first thanksgiving celebration held in what would become the USA was in 1541 by the Spanish explorer Francisco Vasquez de Coronado in what is now the Texas panhandle.
• The second was held by French Huguenauts in a settlement near what is now Jacksonville, Florida.
• The first thanksgiving celebration with both Europeans and Native Americans was shared at St. Augustine between the Spaniards and the Timicuans.
• The celebration had by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag in 1621 was a harvest festival instead of a thanksgiving celebration.
• Tisquantum ("Squanto") and Samoset spoke English because they were kidnapped by an Englishman, purchased by Spanish friars, escaped, made their way to London, spent 5 years there, and then managed to get back to North America only to find that Tisquantum's tribe had died of plague.
• Allegedly, the first thing the Pilgrims heard upon meeting Samoset was "Do you have any beer?"
• Tisquantum was basically the only reason the Pilgrims not only didn't starve, but didn't get themselves killed by the Wampanoag (repeatedly). By all accounts, the man should be canonized as a saint (miracle: keeping the peace for ~50 years).
• Plymouth Rock was founded on Tisquantum's abandoned hometown.
• Washington had declared his first presidential Thanksgiving in 1789, and one as a general in 1777, the same month the Continental Congress set theirs. Well before magazine editress Sarah Hale wrote to President Lincoln.
• The first dish to emerge as a traditional Thanksgiving entree was pork ribs, not turkey.

I'm thinking that Millifeulle is desperately wishing that she'd taken up Faye's offer of a blindfold and a pair of headphones with soothing classical music playing over them. There are certain conversations that I, for one, would always feel intensely better having not heard and a discussion about the content of my buttocks is one of them!

It says all sorts of good things about Sam that her first and overriding concern is that Millie not be feeling any discomfort. It says lots of interesting things about Milli that she is trying to reassure Sam as a priority!

Who knows...  My imagination made it a permanent but invisible seam with some sort of heat sensitive adhesive, so the application of the tool opens the pre existing seam.  Another question is that of stretch. Do they need to add extra skin to allow for the implants, or like human skin will it adapt by itself?

Technically, a (welding) torch, or a soldering iron are thermal decouplers, too!

Question is, how elastic the "dermal cover" is, and how much the difference is. I guess there needs to be a certain amount of stretch to account for movement, so as long as you don't add like ten pounds per cheek, it should be fine.

I would expect they ordered in any they need along with the implants; probably standardized colors as well as materials.  I would think there would be resellers of after-market or OEM dermal components; after all May found some the proper color eventually.

The real question I had is: if it's really just a hot knife, how has Faye not used it before in some capacity? Or was her sculpture work never in small-scale designing where that'd be used for visual aid?

Everything I've seen about Faye's art is that it was at least desk furniture-sized. She never did super-small precision work.

I don't know. Sometimes I think that Bubbles likes to show off (to Sam if not to Faye) and deliberately jargons stuff up to make what she knows look more impressive.

As a skilled technician, I've often been surprised at how many common tools have more specific names (a basic example being "hex wrench" aka "Allen Key").  Bubbles strikes me more as the kind of person to use the true/original name for tools, as it's more accurate.  Heat Knife gets the point across, but if it's not actually sharp, is it really a knife?  Thermal Adhesive may basically be Hot Glue, but Bubbles is more precise than that.

In Brasil, there were attempts to create a Thanksgiving festival back in the 80's, but it just didn't caught on. Mainly, I think, because it was not harvest-related (we harvest pratically the whole year),  only the "religious undertones".

There are always someone trying to emulate american holydays here. Lately, Halloween. Hilarity ensues, with some religious organizations attempting to ban it because, you know, "pagan holiday" and "evil"... Which only draws more attention to the thing.

Sam is present so Bubbles is just automatically PG-13-ing her language. As she is a former front-line soldier who, I suspect, may have also done her time in the Motor Pool, I suspect that Bubbles' normal response to annoyance would literally boil the paint off of the walls and render any old lady within a 2500-foot radius unconscious.

Since 2016, I've been avoiding family altogether and doing it with friends.  Even before then, the obnoxious relatives were a reason that I spent most of my time with earbuds in gaming on a laptop (I hate American football, so that wouldn't serve as a distraction for me).

I assemble my own computers, which often requires a blood sacrifice to complete. Like the time they packaged CPUs in fancy coffee boxes which were sharp.

Now I wasn't sure what getting clipped meant at first, if it was like getting your nails clipped, I know some people who lost their fingertip (but it grows back?), it sounds painful though. It's unlikely going to be the gang related word (unless butts are weaponized). If it's going to be the clothespin kind of clipping, then I'm not sure if it would end with losing another fingernail.

The thing that's most intriguing is that hot glue is more than just the stuff that you use in crafts, it's now used in woodworking and other major construction so it being used to secure a seam on an AI body would make sense especially if it's one that's only meant to be opened for emergency repairs or surgery...

I refuse to go out before 5pm on Black Friday, and I don't do any shopping until after 7pm. I refuse to encourage retailers to do that to their employees. Working Black Friday sucked enough when I worked retail a decade ago.
