Getting a further glimpse into Roko's psyche.
Thankfully, I've never needed to do an apology video. With luck, that trend will hold.

EDIT: If it doesn't, I'm either panel 1 or panel 3.

Went with 2 and 4. I'm unapologetic with what I say and I don't self-censor, but I'm also weirdly self-conscious about it. And while I don't tend to ask for money, I am not above doing that, just haven't had many opportunities to do that.

I guess it depends on what I'm apologizing for. Is it for something I regret, or just to get someone off my case?

I do believe panel three for the May 10th comic could well be used for a new meme format.

Regarding option 7 on the poll, I got the idea from a series of Godzilla franchise monsters doing apology speeches with little banners on the front stating their specific messge.

Considering what kind of information Jay may spill all over the internet when it drunk mode I'd say it was an accidental and unintentional, but very, very good decision.

I was wondering about that very thing myself. While Yay has pulled back from monitoring Roko constantly, one must remember that in anything involving Roko, Yay must be considered.

Yay? Drunk? Possibly they might allow one instance to become drunk. While surrounded by multiple layers of security.

You don't want an omnipotent being at your drunk sleepover party.  The very least bad outcome one can expect is a rainfall of extinct critters who don't fit into the known zoological taxonomy.  It just gets worse from there.

I'll admit, I didn't enjoy Yay as a character initially, but I'm warming up to them.

I like that they are basically a teen in terms of emotions and human (or what-have-you) interactions, and worse - they seem aware of it but can't do much about it.

Also, their hurt expression is adorable and priceless.

One thing I don't like is that they had a much more androgynous look in the beginning, I would say. Maybe it was the way they dressed, maybe something about the way they were drawn, maybe the hair? But they read as vaguely masculine to me, at least to an extent, whereas now I completely don't have that vibe.

Considering that they have multiple bodies, they might be trying different approaches to genre identification. Also, I got a feeling that they look more feminine when interecting with the robot girls group, particularly Roko. Trying to mingle, maybe?

OK, I initial misread the original comment as someone complaining that Yay was too masculine nowadays, when they meant the opposite.  Yay's face looks quite girly now (not to mention more human), let alone the hairstyle.  But this is probably just one body that lives at this address.

I always assumed each of them had their own take on how to present themselves, so Grey instance in the full suit likes to be more masc vs the Yay instance who has from the start been a bit more fem in their style.

Nailed it. That's exactly why I don't drink these days. At least when I get completely shit-face stoned I remember it in the morning. Of course, the problem with that is, when I get completely shit-face stoned, I remember it in the morning.

I have gotten drunk exactly once in my life. Turns out, when I get drunk I also get completely irrational! That was fun for everyone involved, and alas, I remember most of what happened that night. It does prevent me from getting drunk ever again, and I've wondered since why people choose to get drunk on a regular basis. The hangover alone was enough to put me off for life, never mind the person I become when totally inebriated.

I’ve had enough substance use for half the people here, so the balance is maintained.

These days, I maybe have drinks on one or two occasions every few weeks, and a limit of two.  I don’t miss intoxication, except when I’m stuck around people who are, not because I think that I’m missing out, but because they’re too damned annoying to be around sober.

How is that 'boring'?

Exactly. Ain't nothing boring about that.

One drink is often my sweet spot, I rarely go above two, with three being my soft limit. And while I *have* been drunk in the past, I don't see is as necessary or a badge of honour or anything like that.

I had definitely too much to drink only twice in my life, once was a mistake and ended in unpleasantness and a bad evening, once I immediately slept it off (the place I was drinking was so close to the room I slept, I could just stumble to bed unassisted). Neither was necessary, and I am unlikely to ever repeat either incident.

Getting properly drunk is honestly vastly overrated (although I like how one drink, potentially two, removes the stick I have up my butt when sober).

Seriously, I am old enough that I have adult children and I have never been drunk, stoned or inebriated in any way.
I do drink but I always stop after one1.

1 I did have two glasses of champagne when I got married. And two beers at a barbeque once. Once. Boring squared

I'm almost as boring, then. I also have adult children and have never been drunk or whatever (never even tried recreational drugs or tobacco). I almost never drank alcohol for many years because I hadn't found anything I could stand to drink -- and, probably unsurprisingly, was not trying new possibilities very frequently. I did eventually find a cider that I could tolerate and for a while would have one or two at our work's (optional) weekly drinks and snacks session, or occasionally at other times. But I drifted out of the habit and once again only very rarely drink anything alcoholic. At least now when I do, I have something I can drink that doesn't make me screw up my face in disgust :)

Same here. Probably the reason I don't drink a lot, is that I pretty soon found that quite a few beers make me feel queasy. I eventually found a few that I actually like, but I'm still wary for my digestion's sake - so I stick to "just the one".

I wonder how the sober instances would react?
