The Last Show You Saw
Kai:
Ah, yeah, that's one of the guys who opened for em, somebody from Fruitbats. Did you see Band of Horses with them?
MilkmanDan:
Nervous Testpilot/randomNumber/65daysofstatic, bitch!
If there was any justice in this world I would be typing this with my nose, as the rest of my bones would have been broken in the world's largest moshpit caused by 65DOS playing a HARDCORE version of play.nice.kids. However, the crowd was not cool enough, or indeed large enough for this feat. So, yeah.
StupidityKills:
Tom Vek at the Louisiana last Friday.
Very good, spexy, zombie dancing and hot band.
Sweaty as hell though, the place is like a furnace :(
not a big fan of the support band Fallout Trust, but not too bad I suppose.

I know I'm kind of late to the game here, but:
--- Quote ---I went and saw Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening, Dub Narcotic Sound System, Head of K records) play at a local coffee house. It was just him and an acoustic guitar, very informal. It was fun to hear him play his songs and banter about random things. The openers were local and I only saw part of one set, though it was pretty good.
--- End quote ---
Holymoly am I jealous. I have the biggest voice-crush on Calvin Johnson. Especially when he sings with Doug Martsch in the Halo Benders. WHOOODOGGIE.
The last band I saw was the Pixies on their reunion tour. Which was AGES ago. I used to go to a show at least twice a month but then the best music venue in town shut down. Needless to say, I was heartbroken.
Poke:
I saw Death Cab for Cutie on campus several months ago, and of course it rocked!
