The Last Show You Saw
Tartar Martyr:
The Pixies at Austin City Limits last fall. It was pretty sweet until I ran out of water in the 100 degree heat and didn't want to abandon my spot 20 feet away from the stage. But once they came out it was all worth it. Sitting through dashboard and all the 12 year olds singing along to "float on" then proceding to talk through every other modest mouse song. The Pixies came on and blew all of those awful memories out of my head.
Tartar Martyr:
I wish. I am in Fort Worth... Austin is so much cooler than Fort Worth.
The only good part of the Dashboard set was when the guy gave a shout out to "all the little people who can't see the stage". Being 6-6 and having a seat on the ground, I felt that this was my call to stand up. My friends and I thought this was hilarious. The 16 year old girls behind me didn't get the joke...
Kid Amnesiac:
The Pixies were great at ACL. And the Modest Mouse set was beyond bad. I'm glad I saw them the night before at the afterparty show at Stubb's, it was amazing. Now that I think about it I saw the Pixies three times that year. At Coachella, ACL, and then their gig at Stubb's in October. They were all great.
Tartar Martyr:
That's awesome. Coachella had a sweet lineup last year, it nearly killed me to not go. But with the distance, school schedule, and limitted funds it would have been difficult (and pretty unreasonable) to make the 2000 mile trek or whatever out of Texas.
