Psssh - it's all about being seen/scene at the right gigs! Of course they're not there to enjoy the music, it's just so that they can say 'Oh yeah, I was at that gig' and when asked how it was, can simply regurgitate whatever popular opinion dictates about the gig.

First rule of scenesterism.

Urgh... I hate it when that happens. It breaks my concentration when I'm thinking of good lines for a review.

And I just got back from Isis. One word: WOW.

muffy:
Last show was Star Scream with Shard, Vilette and My Marilyn - 3 of those bands were average, but Star Scream were top banana.

BUT - I thought Brighton Indie Scenesters were bad. Translate that to London, stick in a raging manics fixation and Simon Price striding round the venue with everyone tring to impress/befriend him and it gets really ugly - every person there believes they are someone and won't rest until other people know who that someone is.
Couple that with the fact that I was sandwiched between two exes for the band's set, and asked to DJ alongside the dude from Rachel Stamp and Kitten from Glam-ou-rama and it's a pretty interesting night.

But I now feel bad for bashing Ariel X, as the guitarist was there and was a pillar of sanity and a rather lovely bloke.

Robbo:
Hey, just because some is nice and specially if just because someone thinks they're nice looking, doesn't mean that have any musical worth or talent.

jeney:
Pinback
and sadly, i don't remember the names of the bands who played with them.

yipjumpmusic:
