The Last Show You Saw
a pack of wolves:
I just got back from Summerslam in Saarlouis in Germany. So very, very good. La Quiete was crazy, everyone went insane and invaded the stage, such a great atmosphere. Eaves were good too, but like Daitro it was too hot too appreciate them properly. Really want to see them both again now. Oxes had us cracking up and getting really weird looks from loads of German guys who couldn't understand the jokes, Analena rocked out, Tantrum were a surprise with their really excellent Hydraheady type stuff and Playing Enemy ripped it up. The people were lovely, the beer was good, the weather was great and it was a damn fine weekend.
muffy:
I saw Towers of London last week.
I don't care if they're supposed to be funny, but they ponced around outside the venue with their terrible hair and sunglasses, one of them ended up in the ladies toilets and they put on a truly terrible show.
I also resented being stuck in a venue filled with 80s punk throwbacks and people who still find guns n roses to be culturally relevant...
Did see The Research a while back though, who made me happy as they were all smiles and keyboards and brilliance...the only thing that would have made them perfect would have been a tapdancing drummer, but you can't have it all...
Deadzilla were odd, kind of Cabaret Noir but cool all the same...
And The Dirty Social Disorder and the Deadbeat Descendents, who I tried so hard to like as they were my mate's bands, but...yeah.

trio last night rocked the casbah !
awesome show

For a second I thought you meant "The Casbah" cause I just came from there, it being an actual venue here by the airport. Planes flying really close landing or taking off.
Saw Enon with Thunderbirds are Now! and opener. Opener was not bad besides repeating lines too much and in too many songs.
Thunderbirds rocked though I almost decided to not buy anything from them when the little punk singer spit water at the crowd. Usually I would not mind so much but I was borrowing someone else's digital camera.
Enon was great too though their new CD cannot match High Society. Still I bought it and got a vinyl single, a shirt and a poster. (merch whore am I) Poster was free though since it was the display, yay. I got one of the thunderbird CDs that I got free since one of the band members remembered me being there way early (before the bands came) and so told the guy selling to give it to me free.
Rob Crow of Pinback was there and he remembered me as I am the early guy at his shows too. Talked with Kenseth of Pinback too who was there and Emily of Bunky (local but they are on sufjan steven's label now) and she knows me too since I email them. It's nice when you are not just another random fan to them.
