Goddamnit. I hate you. The Larry Arms NEVER come here, and I wasn't in town the last time they came...almost 2 fucking years ago! They're one of my favourite bands and I'd kill to see them :(

But on the bright side....ALKALINE FUCKING TRIO in.....2 days!

Went to a gig featuring Danny Howells and Deep Dish the friday before last. I realise not many folks on here are into dance music, but oh my fucking god...  The crowd was in an awesome mood before Danny even started his set, and by the time he was fifteen minutes into it the air was electric. Three hours of amazing tech house, followed by Ali and Sharam getting on the decks and delivering some of the most bass-heavy groove-laden deep house I've had the pleasure to hear. It helped that the sound system was good enough that I could feel every low-range decibel travelling from my feet up through my balls, my spinal cord and into my brain stem. :) Staggered out of the club around about six in the morning.

I saw Wilco four days ago. They kick more ass then I can really describe in written words. And they played with the roots! Basically, Nels Cline is a guitar hero of the first order, Jeff Tweedy is more and more of a rockstar every day, and I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is one of the best songs of all time. If you like them at all, make sure you see them on this tour.

yipjumpmusic:
2nd annual Independence Jam.  Not as great as last year was but Pinback was why I went, this being the 9th time I've seen them.  Nada surf was not bad. (seen em before).   The Raveonettes I was sleepy at the time and I think they did a bad sound job for them I think...I walked out on Rocket from the Crypt after third song.  Kasabian opening...so so, that club foot song only one I'd want to hear again though I already knew this before.

Built to Spill, except not.  They were sold out of ze tickets.
