I just moved to Kansas a little bit ago, and even if things are only really happening in Lawrence (course, Westport has some stuff too) there's actually suprisingly alot going on here for.. you know, Kansas.

I'm going to see The Three Businessmen once they get around to like, telling me when their show is.

Where in Kansas? Lawrence I guess? We're probably the only people in the state who read QC. ;)

The Evens, last night.

I've got to say, that was awesome. I hadn't even heard them before last night, but my friend Dan called me up and said, "Do you want to go see Ian Mackaye's new band?" and how do you say no to that? It was in a pretty small club, and there was a great vibe in the room, something very personal about the whole thing.

When they played Sara Lee I kind of started to crack up though (my friend used to think that was my name... it's funny to me.), and Ian kept giving me this weird look...

I live down in Overland Park, but I travel to Westport and Lawrence whenever I get the chance. I would be at Wakarusa right now, but I was broke. >_<

Damned cousin. He's at Wakarusa. I'm going to poke him.

JLM:
Head of Femur, Dr. Dog, Architecture in Helsinki about half an hour ago.  HoF was decent and AiH didn't dissapoint at all (though I wonder at their choice to perform a Randy Newman cover), but Dr. Dog was just not interesting.  Imagine a combination of the worst aspects of Peter Frampton, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and The Eagles, mix in a humanoid  Electric Mayhem, and you might have an idea of what they sounded like.

ebullientsoul:
Lawrence Arms. brendan was sloppy, drunk, but for the mood, which was a local party, it couldn't have been better.
